Dorrington Performance
Overview

The Challenge

James was launching Dorrington Performance from scratch. He had the skills and the drive — but no brand, no direction, and no idea how to present the business to the customers he actually wanted to attract.

Starting a new business means competing for attention from day one without any existing reputation to lean on. Without a clear identity or message, there was a real risk of blending in with every other generic repair shop and attracting the wrong kind of work.

The Outcome

A complete brand identity and website that gave Dorrington Performance a strong, credible presence from day one — and put the right customers in the door immediately.

The brand made an immediate impression on the target market. The website generated significant traffic, customer response to the aesthetic was overwhelmingly positive, and James's booking calendar filled rapidly after launch.

Discovery & Strategy

Understanding What the Right Customers Need to Hear

Before any design work began, we ran a structured strategy session with James to map out who Dorrington Performance was really for. Three distinct customer types emerged: middle-class couples nearing retirement who prioritise reliability, young professionals who value quality and the thrill of driving, and younger enthusiasts drawn to modified cars and performance culture. James chose to build the brand around young professionals — people who take their vehicles seriously, expect top-quality work, and are willing to pay for it. That decision shaped every creative choice that followed. To translate that strategy into a visual direction, we created three stylescapes — one for each customer segment. Each presented a distinct mood, palette, and tone. The young professionals' direction stood out immediately: bold red, white, and black tones, sharp geometric energy, and the kind of visual confidence that signals quality before a word is read.

Brand Identity

A Brand That Signals Quality Before a Word Is Read

With a clear direction chosen, we built a complete brand system from the ground up. The logo centres on a checkered flag motif — a nod to the finish line and the thrill of performance — paired with modern, sleek typography that conveys sophistication without sacrificing energy. Every element of the identity was designed to communicate one thing consistently: Dorrington Performance is the kind of garage that takes the work as seriously as its customers take their cars.

Website

A Website Built to Convert the Right Visitors

The website was structured around the strategy, not just the aesthetics. Prominent typography and copy speaks directly to car enthusiasts — their language, their priorities, their expectations. The service process is laid out clearly, calls-to-action are strong and direct, and real customer testimonials sourced from Google Reviews give visitors the social proof they need to make a confident decision. Built on Webflow, the site is fast, clean, and easy to maintain — a business tool that works from day one.
